Welcome to RespectSite.Com

Respect is the Answer!

How do we bring peace to the world? How do we get disparate factions to work together and live together? Should we look at religions, philosophies or cultures? How do we live together when we are from such different backgrounds? Pondering the problems in the world, I would often look to the various spiritual or community solutions often proffered. I kept coming back to the fact that they would work in some instances and not in others. The inconsistencies in the success of these various methods to resolve social problems led me to look for some other method.

I believe that there has to be a way for people of different backgrounds and experiences to be able to interact in a peaceful manner. By people respecting the beliefs and attitudes of others, interaction can be without rancor. Acceptance and respect for the other person may be the most viable method. Respect for self and others will provide a basis for an interaction between people that can transcend individual, cultural, socio-economic and philosophical differences.

I am Jerry L. Isaac and RespectSite.Com is my Website. For me, this website serves two purposes. The first is to provide me with a venue to practice website development and the second, to begin exploring in an open manner my belief in the concept of respect as a solution to conflict, resulting in peaceful coexistence. Over time the content and design of this site will change. I try using different web design packages to extend and enhance my programming abilities. I also have about 200 GIFS I would like to try.

This website will allow you, the reader to get to know me. I will include pictures (I have been a photographer for over 30 of my 40+ years). I will share my perspectives on education (I have been an administrator in higher education for over 17 years) and I will be able to learn from you about ……..

Check in regularly to see how I evolve and grow. Give lots of input. But to start, below are some of the areas of my interest. Also check out the links to the left. I have a nice Panda slideshow done in Acrobat.

EducationI have been fortunate in continuing my education beyond college. I attended Hampton Institute (now Hampton University) for a bachelor's degree in psychology. It was truly a home by the sea. I then continued my education at The University of Michigan. I earned a mastes degree in social psychology. Michigan was and is one of the most fascinating institutions. A state Univrsity that rivals and exceeds most private institutions. Now it is time to continue on to the doctorate. more

Real Estate I am a licensed real estate salesperson with Long and Foster. I like to say that I am so new that the business cards are still warm. I have chosen real estate because of the ability to facility the joining of an individual or family with the right property. I have always said that I do not want to be a salesperson. In my mind this is different. It is the same concept as a development officer, matching a donor with a charity. more

Photography Photography is a hobby. As a teen I was able to earn money by taking pictures of my friends. I would create calendars using a mask during the developing process. It sure beat cutting grass. I want to share pictures I have taken on my trips and vacations. I will start with a spread from my 2002 trip to Las Vegas. I will be going to Colorado soon and will share the beautiful mountains and resevoirs I come upon. I do have a thing for 'clouds with character'. So watch out for those images. more

Family My family is originally from West Virginia. My father was born in Kanawha City and raised in Malden and my mother was born and raised in Charleston. I have two wonderful siblings, an older brother and a younger sister. And best of all, I have a beautiful wife named Angela. Angela will be working with the companion website Angelaproductions.com. more

Travel We love to travel. During the 2002 holiday season we went to Las Vegas. This was a first for me and my wife. We left on Christmas day with my sister and her friend and returned on December 31st. It was a much needed break from the day-to-day grind we all find ourselves in. Check out some of the images from our trip. Our next trip will be to Colorado. I look forward to the fresh air, mountains and resevoirs. more

Activities I enjoy nature photography. There is nothing like spending some time in the mountains with unlimitd film and great lighting. I also enjoy reading. I began reading as a child. My earliest memories are of the Peanuts comic books by Charles Schultz. I could empathize with the trials and tribulations of Charlie Brown and the neurosis of Linus. I build computers. My last computer was an AMD 1900+ with an Abit board. I am chomping at the bit to build a new computer with an AMD 64 chip. I am waiting for the wide spread use of PCI express. I have made some recent upgrades to my last computer. I added the Sony DRU-700A.
